Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data. We keep this simple because we genuinely don't collect more than we need.

1. Who We Are

MakersPage ("we," "us," or "our") is a digital marketplace and community platform operated from Pennsylvania, United States. We can be reached at support@makerspage.com.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of makerspage.com, including visitors, registered users (Fans), and sellers (Makers).

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to operate the platform. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: Your name, email address, username, and password when you register.
  • Profile information: Your bio, profile photo, cover image, location, and social media links if you choose to add them.
  • Product information: Product titles, descriptions, prices, and files you upload as a Maker.
  • Payment information: Your Stripe or PayPal account credentials if you are a Maker. We do not store your full payment details β€” these are handled directly by Stripe and PayPal.
  • Communications: Messages you send to other users through our messaging system, and emails you send to our support team.
  • Posts and content: Updates, posts, and other content you publish on the platform.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Session data: We use server-side sessions to keep you logged in while you use the platform. This is stored on our server and associated with your account.
  • Server logs: Our hosting provider may automatically collect standard server log information including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. We use this only for security and debugging purposes.

What we do NOT collect: We do not use third-party analytics tools, advertising pixels, tracking cookies, or any behavioral tracking technology. We do not collect data to sell to advertisers or data brokers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to operate and improve MakersPage:

  • To create and manage your account
  • To enable you to buy and sell digital products
  • To process and record transactions (via Stripe and PayPal)
  • To send transactional emails β€” including purchase confirmations, download links, password resets, and message notifications β€” via Resend
  • To display your public profile, posts, and products to other users
  • To enable communication between users via our messaging system
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To maintain platform security and prevent fraud
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose not described above.

3a. Maker Email Lists

Makers (sellers) on MakersPage may operate their own email subscriber lists. When you subscribe to a Maker's email list β€” either through their profile page opt-in form or by opting in at checkout β€” the following applies:

  • Your name and email address are collected and stored on our platform on behalf of that Maker.
  • The Maker may export and use your email address to contact you with updates, promotions, and new product announcements.
  • You can unsubscribe from a Maker's list at any time by contacting them directly or emailing support@makerspage.com.
  • MakersPage acts as a data processor for Maker email lists; the Maker is the data controller for their own subscriber list.
  • We do not share subscriber lists between Makers or use them for our own marketing.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

4.1 With Other Users (Public Information)
Information you choose to make public β€” including your display name, username, profile photo, bio, location, posts, and product listings β€” is visible to all visitors of MakersPage. Your email address is never displayed publicly.

4.2 With Payment Processors
When you make or receive a payment, relevant transaction details are shared with Stripe or PayPal to process the payment. These processors have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.

4.3 With Email Service Provider
We use Resend to send transactional emails. Your email address and the content of transactional emails are processed by Resend solely for delivery purposes.

4.4 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4.5 Business Transfers
If MakersPage is acquired, merged, or its assets transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Storage & Security

5.1 Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. By using MakersPage, you consent to your data being stored and processed in the United States.

5.2 Security Measures
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit

  • Blocking of PHP execution in file upload directories

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

6. Cookies
